Sandringham Gardens was established in 1912 and incorporated into the Chevrah Group in 2000. This facility has been taking care of the needs of older persons for close to 100 years. It is home to over 500 elderly people, approximately 300 of whom are in need of long-term, intensive medical and nursing care.
The Sandringham Gardens hospital, which forms part of the Chevrah's Community Medical Centre, has a full complement of nursing staff, General Practitioners and access to consulting Specialists. It also provides dentistry, optometry, audiology and speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry and radiology services and has a fully-stocked dispensary. Hearing aids, spectacles and mobility aids are made available to patients and residents. A team of social workers offer supportive counselling to residents and family members.
For those in the residential section who are well enough to enjoy the wide range of amenities on offer, regular entertainment, outings, in-house functions, religious lectures and a beautifully maintained shul are on hand. Also available is a hairdressing salon, library and Nosh Bar which supplies tasty snacks. Meals are prepared by the professional catering team who pays faithful attention to special dietary requirements. This remarkable residential facility is a warm and caring place and sits amidst beautifully cultivated and maintained gardens which the residents, weather permitting, enjoy enormously.
